Marian C. Finan, M.D.
 

Marian C. Finan, M.D.

 

Marian C. Finan, M.D. has been engaged in the full-time practice of Dermatopathology in the Atlanta area since 1987. She founded the lab as Finan Dermatopathology Laboratory in 1994 and is the Laboratory Director. She currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Emory University School of Medicine. Additionally, she taught and actively signed out cases at Grady Memorial Hospital for ten years as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Dermatology. She has held leadership positions in several organizations, including having served as President of the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, President of the Atlanta Assocation for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, Treasurer of the Georgia Dermatology Network, and a member of the FDA Dermatologic Drugs Advisory Committee.

 

Dr. Finan earned her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine. She spent the following four years at the Mayo Clinic/Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, completing one year in Internal Medicine and a three year residency in Dermatology. She subsequently spent over one year in the private practice of Dermatology in the Atlanta area prior to commencing additional training in Anatomic Pathology/Dermatopathology at Emory University. While a Visiting Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, she had the opportunity of studying under Dr. Wallace Clark, a renowned expert in melanocytic neoplasia. She is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology.

 

Areas of interest include inflammatory skin diseases, skin signs of systemic disease, and melanocytic neoplasms.

Stephen F. Templeton, M.D.
 

Stephen F. Templeton, M.D.

 

Stephen F. Templeton, M.D. has been practicing Dermatopathology in Atlanta since 1993 and has been in full time practice with Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates since 1997.  He is a past president of the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and continues to be active in this organization as well as in the Atlanta Assocation for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatopathology. He also has served as a past board member for the Georgia Dermatology Network. In 1993, Dr. Templeton began practicing clinical Dermatology and Dermatopathology at the Emory Clinic and Emory University Hospital where he was an Assistant Professor in the departments of Dermatology and Pathology. During this time he took an active role in teaching dermatology and dermatopathology to medical students and residents and published several scientific papers. He continues to enjoy part time teaching endeavors as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Emory University Medical School.

 

Dr. Templeton earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch where he was selected for membership in Alpha Omega Alpha. He served his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina, and then completed residency and fellowship training in Dermatology and Dermatopathology at Emory University. He is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology.

 

Histologic diagnosis of alopecia and inflammatory skin disease are areas of special interest.

Julie A. Barber, M.D.
 

 

Julie A. Barber, M.D.

 

Julie A. Barber, M.D. began her practice of Dermatopathology in 2001 as a faculty member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Dermatology. She  joined Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates in 2002 and has been active in the local dermatology community, having served as president and secretary of the Atlanta Assocation for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. She is also an active member of the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine where she participates in the dermatopathology resident education.

 

 

Dr. Barber earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine, where she was selected for membership in Alpha Omega Alpha the national medical honor society. She completed a medicine internship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and a dermatology residency at Duke University. Dr. Barber then subspecialized in dermatopathology, completing her fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology.

Narayan S. Naik, M.D.
 

Narayan S. Naik, M.D.

 

Narayan S. Naik, M.D. has been engaged in the full time practice of dermatopathology since 2003, and he joined Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates in 2005. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Emory University Medical School and coordinates the lab’s education efforts with scheduling of resident teaching sessions, board reviews, and maintenance of the slide library. Dr. Naik has also served as president and treasurer of the Atlanta Association for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. He is also an active member of the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology.

 

Dr. Naik earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, where he was selected for membership in Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society and was valedictorian of his graduating class. He finished an internship in Preliminary Internal Medicine at Summa Health System / Akron City Hospital and then completed a dermatology residency at New York University, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Naik then served as a fellow in dermatopathology at the University of Pennsylvania. He then practiced full-time dermatopathology for two and a half years with Pathology Associates in Westchester County, New York, prior to joining Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates in 2006. He is board certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology.

 

Areas of interest include inflammatory skin diseases, skin infections, elastic tissue disorders and the teaching of residents.

Ryan B. Lundell, M.D.

 

Ryan B. Lundell, M.D. has been practicing Dermatopathology since 2007 when he joined Utah Pathology Services in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Utah during this time. He joined Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates in 2015.

 

Dr. Lundell performed a two year fellowship in Dermatopathology and Immunodermatology in the Department of Dermatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. Previously he earned his medical degree from the University of Utah where he was selected for membership in Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He completed an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at the University of Utah, and also finished fellowship training in Hematopathology during this time.

 

Areas of interest include autoimmune bullous disorders and cutaneous lymphoid infiltrates.

Lauren N. Stuart, M.D., M.B.A.
 

Lauren N. Stuart, M.D., M.B.A.

 

Lauren N. Stuart, M.D.  joined Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates in 2017 after serving as staff pathologist at Treasure Coast Pathology in Stuart, Florida.  Dr. Stuart is board certified in Dermatopathology since 2016 after completing her fellowship at Emory University where she also completed her residency and board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.  She previously attended the University of Miami, Florida, where she earned her medical doctorate and Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in healthcare sector management and policy. Dr. Stuart earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Psychology and History with cum laude distinction from the University of South Florida in Tampa,  Florida.

 

Dr. Stuart is an active member of the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) where she serves on several key committees. She is also on the editorial boards for Pathology Outlines, Pathology Resident Wiki, and CAP NewsPath.  She has also previously been awarded First Place in the ASDP’s prestigious annual Duel in Dermatopathology abstract competition.

 

Areas of interest include cutaneous adnexal neoplasms.
